Write about an unforgettable meal.

 Prompt Response: An unforgettable meal that I had was one that I ate in Germany. My family and I were passing through this small town and stopped by this old pub for dinner. We sat down and my dad had to speak Spanish to the waiter because it was the only language that they had in common. I ordered a steak with herb butter and french fries along with a popular German drink called Spezi. Our drinks were delivered by a little robot that sang the Oktoberfest song. After that, we got our food. My steak was so juicy and flavorful and the fries were crispy and salty. It was hands down the best meal I've ever eaten. 

Summary: Today in class we read chapter 5 of the book and answered 5 discussion questions about Grant the teacher and his conflicts. 

Reflection: I am enjoying this book so far and I thought that the questions were deep and helped me understand the chapter better.

  Prompt Response:  Of the 5 senses, the one that I value the most is sight. Sight is the most important to me because it is the only one that you can't do anything about. For example, for hearing, you can learn sign language. You don't really need taste either. For smell, touch, and hearing, there are ways to live your life without them. However, if you don't have sight, you can not do anything about it. You need sight to truly experience life and the world. That is why sight is the most important to me.   Prompt Response:  I prefer Daylight Savings Time. This is because it symbolizes that summer is getting closer, which is exciting. I also enjoy having a change in my routine that makes life a little more interesting for a little bit. I also enjoy having more daylight that lasts for longer. That is why I prefer Daylight Savings Time over Standard Time.  Summary: Today was a virtual day, so I worked on the NEWSELA assignment on Daylight Savings Time.  Reflection:  I enjoyed reading the article and learning about the reason and history behind Daylight Savings Time. I also thought that the questions weren't that difficult, but they still offered a challenge.

Prompt Response:  If my Nintendo Switch could tell a story about me, it would probably talk about all the time I spent playing video games and bonding with family and friends:  "Jonah would spend hours on weekends playing Fortnite, Super Smash Bros, and Mario Kart with my family and friends. He loved the time he spent together making memories and growing friendships."  Summary: Today in class, we read a poem called "So Much Depends On..." and began a project about how the little things in our lives play big roles.  Reflection:  I thought the lesson today helped me recognize and feel more grateful for the objects I might take for granted.
