Write about a truth you were afraid to accept.

Prompt Response: A truth that I was afraid to accept was that I would never be good at basketball. When I was growing up I loved playing basketball, we had a basketball hoop in our driveway that I would shoot on every day. I played up until my freshmen year of high school when my team lost every single game that season. I had not done well in the last few seasons and I didn't really enjoy it anymore. So I had to realize that I wasn't meant to play basketball and I quit and started playing baseball and swimming.

Summary: Today Mr. Rease was absent so we worked on a NewELA article assignment. We answered questions and wrote a prompt related to the text.

Reflection: I enjoyed the NewELA article because we were able to work independently. Also, I enjoy analyzing articles. This article was interesting and had some cool information about medical diagnosis.
