Write about adventure you would like to go on.

Prompt Response: An adventure that I would like to go on is a trip to Hawaii to learn how to surf. I love the beach and have never been to Hawaii. I also think that surfing seems really cool and I would like to learn how to do it. While in Hawaii I would also eat lots of delicious food, explore the islands and the volcanoes, snorkel or scuba dive, and go deep-sea fishing as well. I think that all of these things combined would make an awesome adventure to Hawaii. 

Summary: Today in class we worked on a worksheet where we analyzed a poem by Robert Frost called, "The Road Not Taken." We looked at some vocabulary words, located themes, summarized the stanzas, and answered questions on the back.  

Reflection: I thought that this lesson was good because we got to work independently. I also enjoyed analyzing another Robert Frost poem. As we look at more and more of his poems I really like his work.

Prompt Response:   A book that I have read that made me feel something deeply was Ready Player One. I read this a while ago in 8th grade, and when I read it I felt very sad and depressed for the main character. He had lost his home and family and was forced to move away to pursue his dreams, but the main antagonist came and destroyed his home again and forced him to flee. His situation made me feel really bad for him and everything he went through.  Summary: Today in class we read an article in Commonlit and answered questions about the text.  Reflection:  I enjoyed reading the story because I thought it was very interesting, and the questions helped expand my understanding of the text.

Easter Sunday was yesterday, a holiday full of traditions for many people. What holiday do you look forward to the most each year, and why is it your favorite? Share what you usually do to celebrate it and what makes it meaningful or fun for you."

  Prompt Response:  I look forward to Christmas the most out of all the holidays. It is my favorite holiday because I love the spirit of the season. It's impossible to feel sad or bored during Christmas because of all the fun things to do with friends and family. On Christmas Eve, we normally eat a big dinner of smoked meats and a bunch of delicious sides. We normally will invite friends over for this dinner. On Christmas morning, we open presents and eat a breakfast of German sour cream twists, scrambled eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and hot chocolate.  Summary: Today in class, we continued to work on our "So Much Depends Upon..." slide shows.  Reflection:  I am enjoying this project because it is helping me recognize and be more grateful for the smaller things in my life.

  Prompt Response:  Of the 5 senses, the one that I value the most is sight. Sight is the most important to me because it is the only one that you can't do anything about. For example, for hearing, you can learn sign language. You don't really need taste either. For smell, touch, and hearing, there are ways to live your life without them. However, if you don't have sight, you can not do anything about it. You need sight to truly experience life and the world. That is why sight is the most important to me. Summary: Today in class, we worked on a Commonlit assignment about the different types of friendship.  Reflection:  I enjoyed the lesson today because I was able to work independently and quickly.
