October 28

 Today in class we started working on a group project. We are to fulfill our part of the assignment by completing the actions given to us in our assigned roles. My role is the summarize, which seems simple but also challenging at the same time. This assignment will be fun to complete with a group and the story seems interesting. So far I have learned how to use a new website called "Mural" and have started reading and analyzing the first two pages of the story. My day today was overall pretty good. We had our first swim practice today which was fun, and I also had a team banquet for water polo that was also fun and entertaining. At the banquet, we had Mexican food for a delicious dinner. I received the "no-show" reward because I never went to any of the games because baseball conflicted with it.

  Prompt Response:  Of the 5 senses, the one that I value the most is sight. Sight is the most important to me because it is the only one that you can't do anything about. For example, for hearing, you can learn sign language. You don't really need taste either. For smell, touch, and hearing, there are ways to live your life without them. However, if you don't have sight, you can not do anything about it. You need sight to truly experience life and the world. That is why sight is the most important to me. Summary: Today in class, we worked on a Commonlit assignment about the different types of friendship.  Reflection:  I enjoyed the lesson today because I was able to work independently and quickly.

Which time do you perfer the most and why, Daylight Savings Time or Standard Time?

  Prompt Response:  I prefer Daylight Savings Time. This is because it symbolizes that summer is getting closer, which is exciting. I also enjoy having a change in my routine that makes life a little more interesting for a little bit. I also enjoy having more daylight that lasts for longer. That is why I prefer Daylight Savings Time over Standard Time.  Summary: Today was a virtual day, so I worked on the NEWSELA assignment on Daylight Savings Time.  Reflection:  I enjoyed reading the article and learning about the reason and history behind Daylight Savings Time. I also thought that the questions weren't that difficult, but they still offered a challenge.

Prompt Response:  If my Nintendo Switch could tell a story about me, it would probably talk about all the time I spent playing video games and bonding with family and friends:  "Jonah would spend hours on weekends playing Fortnite, Super Smash Bros, and Mario Kart with my family and friends. He loved the time he spent together making memories and growing friendships."  Summary: Today in class, we read a poem called "So Much Depends On..." and began a project about how the little things in our lives play big roles.  Reflection:  I thought the lesson today helped me recognize and feel more grateful for the objects I might take for granted.
